You embodied us, Tommy. You represented us in the finest manner. We the Boston Latin School class of '60. You set the example both in the sports arena and in the classroom. I, for one (I'm sure there were many others),looked up to you. I held you in the highest esteem. I followed your career in football, baseball and basketball. Who could forget how in the 1958 Turkey-Day game at Harvard Stadium you led the Purple and White to victory, 26-24, over English High even though EHS had built up what seemed like an insurmountable half-time lead? I also remember seeing you play in a Hearst baseball high school all-star game at Fenway Park.
As I think back, the one time I had a chance to talk with you at length I can't remember what we said. It was the spring of 1960. We were about to graduate. That morning, as I had done for six years, I was waiting at Dorchester's Codman Square for the MTA's trackless trolley that would take me to Roxbury's Dudley Station when, quite unexpectedly who happens to come down Talbot Ave. in a Ford coupe, Tommy Bilodeau. I don't know whether you spotted me first, or I spotted you. In any event, you were kind enough to stop. I remember you saying, Get in. I thanked you for your kindness, then. I wanted to thank you again later in life, but our paths never crossed.
Moreover, I was sad when I read you had died. In a sense, you were, in a manner of speaking, a member of my extended family. I should say: Our extended family, the BLS class of '60.
Finally, when I read of your vast lifetime accomplishments, it didn't totally surprise me. I had the feeling, even when we were in high school, that Tommy Bilodeau was going accomplish great things.
In conclusion, I want to offer my deepest sympathies and condolences to Tom's wife, Marilyn, Tom and Marilyn's children, their grandchildren and relatives. As I think back almost 60 years, I'm know I'm a better person for having known: Thomas Hubert Bilodeau, Jr.

Tom, also a hotel developer...the Milton Hilton was a first class establishment and certainly one of a kind. Although I visited the establishment many times, I only heard the story of how cars were lined up on Randolph Ave for the grand opening! Yes, you were handsome, charming, fearless, smart, athletic, outgoing, witty..you had it all...including a great family. My deepest condolences to your loved ones and friends.
