I remember Bubba as my Football and Basketball couch at Mission High. He and Jake would come out on the football field without pads and show us how to play hardnosed football. They would knock us all over the field with our pads and all. I especially remember goofing off in a practice and Bubba told me to run laps after practice was over. I ran my 5 laps and walked up the stairs to the clubhouse. I was almost legless. Bubba came in and asked me why I quite and told me to run 5 more. I went out on the field and ran (walk-run) 5 more laps and learned that if I had to it was in me to do more then I though I could. That was a great lesson to learn at that age, thank you Bubba.

Coach Clark was the best!!
He was my coach at Mission High School from 1958 to 1962, also my home room teacher my soph. year.

He was able to get the best out of all his students and players!!!

Tom Clarke was a great guy whose modest demeanour and warm smile belied his incredible athletic accomplishments. Fenway Park game as soph; league's highest scorer in football; Boston Garden champ in bball; 3,4, 5 td's a game for NU, as well as a baseball player. His lifetime friends like Jake, Jim D., Jim L., Georgie, and Dyer bear witness to a wonderful guy. My brother James feels that way too. As do we all.

Mr. Clarke was my homeroom teacher for most of my time at Medford High and was my 11th Grade History teacher. My dad played tennis with him as well. I always will fondly remember Mr. Clarke as a kind man with limitless patience. He was perfectly suited for his vocation, and I am grateful to have had him for a teacher.
