THOMAS GRECO Obituary

GRECO, Thomas R. Of Cohasset, passed away on March 27, 2019, at the age of 80 years. Born on November 12, 1938, Tom was raised in Boston's North End and Somerville, Mass. He attended Boston College High School followed by Boston College, and later graduated with a Master's degree in business administration from New York University. Tom began his career with Honeywell, Inc., but quickly found his passion as a stockbroker, where he worked for E.F. Hutton, Dean Witter, and Morgan Stanley.

Through his connection with the Jesuits, Tom discovered the town of Cohasset and moved there with his wife Rosette in the 1970s. A gregarious

host, Tom loved to cook and host dinner parties, where planter's punch was often the signature drink of the evening. Tom was an active member of the Cohasset Yacht Club, and an avid tennis player. As a supporter of the arts, he enjoyed summer theatre at Williamstown and attending concerts at the

Wellesley Symphony Orchestra and beyond.

He is preceded in death by his wife Rosette, and survived by his daughter, Nicole and her husband Peter Trapa of Salt Lake City, Utah, and their sons, Henry and William, as well as his son, Thomas Greco and his wife Abby of Cohasset, and their daughters, Rosie and Louisa. He is also survived by his brother, Philip Greco, and sister, Pamela Young, and by six nieces and nephews.

A Service in Tom's honor will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 3rd, at St. Anthony's Parish, 10 Summer Street, Cohasset, Mass., followed by a reception at St. Anthony's reception hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scituate Animal Shelter, 780 Chief Justice Cushing Highway, Scituate, Mass. For an online guestbook, please visit:

Tom and Rosette Greco will live on long in the hearts of the many people that loved them. Tom had integrity and character and Rosette had empathy and warmth. Two beautiful people that departed too soon from this earth. I miss them both to this day.

NIcole and Tommy....... Your Dad and I went to the same High School and College however we graduated quite a few years apart. When my wife and I moved to Cohasset and met your Mom and Dad at the Abbey, the connection was made. Your Mom and Dad were everything that good, decent and principled people were meant to be. They were tolerant, kind, hardworking, good humored and giving of their time and good works. Your Mom and Dad loved both of you with their whole hearts. Your Mom and Dad were the most beautiful of beautiful people.

When I Think of Tom, and I think of him often,
our many good times is what I remember the most. We first met in 1975 both raising young families and trying to advance in a business that was in a five year decline. Tom, however, was like the boy in a barn full of horse droppings determined to find a pony there somewhere. With that attitude, we both survived and remained good friends to retirement and beyond. Tom never hesitated to do whatever he could to help family or friends through difficult or even terrible times. They were what mattered most to him, what he lived for. Now I'm left with the memories of a wonderful friend, stimulating, understanding and always lots of fun. Until we meet again.

With that helpful attitude we both survived and
remained good friends to retirement and beyond.
Whenever Tom faced tough or even terrible times
he would not hesitate to give all of the help that he could to family and friends. They were what mattered most to him. What he lived for.

Nicole and Thomas Matthew, we are truly sorry for your loss. We remember the good times and laughter we shared with Tom and Rosette and your father's sense of fun and enthusiasm. Tom was a good man, good husband and father, and he loved his family dearly. And that, after all, is ones best legacy.

With love and sympathy,
Auntie Nancy and Marian

Philip and Pamela,
I am sorry to read that Tommy passed away. We were next door neighbors in the North End and attended St. Mary's School. My brother, Joseph, and I, express our sympathy to all of the Greco family.

Nicole and Tommy... I remember Father Keohane describing your mother as a "lovely, lovely, lovely , lovely woman..... well the same could be said of your Dad. He was a lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely man.... I always figured that at least three lovelys got you to heaven and the fourth lovely put you firmly in the hands of God. Both your Mom and Dad are in the palms of His hands for certain.
