THOMAS J. TOWER Sr.

TOWER, Thomas J., Sr. 88, of Taunton passed away on Monday January 1, 2018 at Morton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lois E. (O'Brien) Tower. Thomas was born in Boston the son of the late Joseph and Frances (O'Neill) Tower. He was educated in Boston and began his career at the State Board of Banking and Regulation and remained there for fifteen years. Mr. Tower then worked for Mechanics Cooperative Bank as the CEO for over fifteen years retiring in 1982. He then returned to work for the State Board of Retirement working for an additional eleven years. Mr. Tower served his country with the Massachusetts National Guard for twenty-three years and was a founding member of the 215th Army Band as a percussionist and vocalist. Tom's true passions in life were his family, music and his friends. Survivors are a daughter: Andrea Mastro and her husband Dennis of Shrewsbury; three sons: James E. Tower and his wife Teresa of Attleboro; Brian J. Tower of Taunton; Thomas J. Tower Jr. and his wife AnnMarie of Marblehead; five grandchildren: Maj. Daniel Tower and his wife Emily; Cristin Tower; Alyssa Tower, Thomas Tower III and Kimberly Tower; a great granddaughter: Allison Tower; a brother: Joseph Tower and his wife Maureen of Scituate; along with many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Patricia Marshalsea and Gerald Tower. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 10am to 11am with a Mass of Christian burial following at 11am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church, 499 Spring Street. North Dighton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial with Military Honors will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
