Cecil Hendrix Obituary

Mr. Cecil Joseph Hendrix 85 of Winter Park, Florida died Wednesday, December 24, in the Florida Hospital in Orlando. Cecil was born December 30, 1918, in Lake Butler, Florida. He lived in Manatee County for many years. He owned and operated Cecil's Diner in Palmetto and Cecil's Dinette in Bradenton. In 1973 he retired and moved to Sylva, N.C. He returned to Florida two years ago. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sylva, N.C. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Thelma Young Hendrix; two daughters: Janice Felker, Winter Park, Judie (Dan) Dufresne, Frankfort, Ky.; one son: David (Gay) Hendrix, Palmetto; seven grandchildren: Cindy Brondon, Las Vegas, N.V., Christopher Felker, Orlando, Bethany (Michael) Croese, Fernindina Beach, Jonathan and Kelly Hendrix, Palmetto, Brian and Michael Dufresne, Frankfort, Ky.; three great grandchildren: Anthony, Kaleigh and Emelia of Las Vegas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30, at 11 a.m. in the Lake Butler Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Elzey Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler. Cecil was greatly loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
