James W. "Jim" Barfield

James W. ''Jim'' Barfield, 61, of Bradenton, Fla., died Jan. 26, 2006. He was a lifelong resident of Manatee County. He served as Bradenton city councilman for 16 years and was the owner of Barfield Service, Barfield Wrecker and Acacia Enterprizes Construction. He attended Manatee Baptist Church and was a member of Manatee Masonic Lodge #31 and Sahib Temple in Sarasota. Survivors include his wife, Helen; daughter, Christine Booker, of Bradenton; grandchildren, Jack and Nicole. Services will be held Sunday, Jan. 29, 2p.m., at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Manatee Avenue Chapel, with Rev. Stephen Aaron officiating. Burial will be at Mansion Memorial Park, in Ellenton.
