Marjorie Petzoldt Obituary

Marjorie J. Petzoldt, 89, of Parrish, Fla., formerly of Vandalia, Ohio, passed away Friday, September 5, 2008, in her home. She is survived by her daughter, BJ Burnside of Parrish, Fla., and her son, Curtis S. Petzoldt and wife Cindy of Ellenton, Fla. Her sister, Helen Brow, also resides in Parrish, Fla. Marjorie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Parrish. She was formerly affiliated with Faith Community Church in Largo, Fla. where she directed Keenagers, their senior adult ministry, for 10 years. She was born on February 24, 1919, in New Bremen, Ohio, to Rev. Ray and Bertha Shearer. She was married in Carthage, New York at the age of 17 to Curtis A. Petzoldt who preceded her in death. They were married for 41 years. In 1986, she married Rev. Curtis Ruby who also preceded her in death. They were married for 10 years. Marjorie is survived by 6 grandchildren: Kent A. Burnside and wife Diana of Ellenton, Fla., Dean A. Burnside and wife Terri of Sarasota, Fla., Shane Hamilton of Newport Beach, Calif., Curtis Todd Petzoldt and wife Christi of Nokomis, Fla,. Zara Petzoldt and Lexi Petzoldt of Ellenton, Fla. She also had 8 great grandchildren: Bradley Burnside, Brandon Burnside, Brittany Burnside Avera and husband Jason, Riley Hamilton, Jazmin Hamilton, Adam Burnside, Kyle Burnside, and Saylor Petzoldt. She is also survived by her nephew Bob Schantz and wife Mary, a niece Sandra Carlson and husband Ben. A Celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at New Hope Baptist Church located at 9422 Old Tampa Rd., Parrish, Fla., 34219 on Monday, September 8, 2008 with viewing from 12:00 - 1:00 pm and memorial service at 1:00 pm with fellowship following. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to New Hope Baptist Chruch or Hospice of Southwest Florida . Mansion Memorial Funeral Home, Ellenton, in charge of arrangements.
