William Edmonson Obituary

William L. ''Bill'' Edmonson
Of Manatee County since 1986, formerly from Buffalo, NY died June 6th, 2017. He was born January 24th, 1934 in Flora, IN. After high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force and upon discharge, attended and graduated from Ball State University. He began his 40 years career with the Boys & Girls Club in Muncie, IN then went on to Providence, RI, Portland, ME, and Buffalo, NY, before coming to Manatee County and serving as Executive Director until his retirement in 1996. He then worked for what is now BMO Harris Bank for over 15 years. Bill loved playing golf and was a skilled wood worker. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Steven ''Tony'' Edmonson of ME; daughter, Cathy Carroll of TX; step-sons, Scott Nickerson of TX and Jon Bermingham of FL; grandchildren, Patrick Edmonson and Nicole Carroll; step-grandchildren Corey and Alicia Nickeson and Corey and Shannon Bermingham. He will be missed by all the friends he made in his life's journey and most of all by his family. A Celebration of Life will be 11AM Monday, June 12th, 2017 at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel.
