Albert Layfield Obituary
He was born on March 9, 1930, in Bradford, Pa., to the late James Franklin and Ruth Bardo Layfield.
Mr. Layfield was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as a Chief Petty Officer. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Chief Petty Officer Layfield was a member of the United States Navy Fleet Reserve.
He was a past member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Bradford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Anderson Layfield; daughter, Jennifer L. (David) Colley; and grandchildren, Rebecca Colley and Sean Colley.
No services will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Operations Warrior Foundation, P.O. Box 89367, Tampa FL 33689 (www.specialops.org).

I worked with Al in the Automotive Laboratory at the Kendall Research in Bradford, PA for many years. AL was a good man and a pleasure to work with, I am sorry to hear of his passing. As an ex sailor myself, AL and I had a few sea stories we shared, I enjoyed the Chiefs company and will miss him.
