Mabel Gennocro Obituary

EMPORIUM - Mabel I. Gennocro, 95, of 130 Kennedy St., Bradford, formerly of Emporium, died at her daughter's residence, Bradford, on Friday morning (June 15, 2012).
She was born Aug. 8, 1916, in Emporium, a daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Zurflu Streich.
On July 5, 1936, she married the late Anthony Gennocro.
Mabel retired from Sylvania, where she worked for many years. She was the last Gold Star Mother in Cameron County. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mabel is survived by her three daughters, Dorothy Chirillo of Bradford and Margy Putt and Gloria Berry, both of Emporium; three sons, Jim (Dolly) Gennocro of Emporium, Sam (Paula) Gennocro of Emporium and Mick Gennocro of Morristown, Tenn.; a brother, Albert "Clink" Streich of Emporium; three sisters, Virginia Stebich of Austin and Lois Gribble and Judy Seabolt, both of Emporium; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Gennocro; a son, Anthony "Butch" Gennocro, who died in the Vietnam War; a daughter, Sharon Geci; a brother, Herbert Streich; and three sisters, Charmaine Donovan, Evelyn Benedict and Doroth Streich.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Barnett Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth St., Emporium, with the Rev. Jeremy Caskey, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium.
