Max Spindler Obituary

Max Francis Spindler "Head of the Spindler Clan," passed away Thursday (April 22, 2021) at the young age of 99.
Born Dec. 22, 1921, in Bradford, to Raymond and Esther Story Spindler. He proudly served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On March 15, 1945, he married his beloved Donna Howe Spindler and raised two children, Diane and Jerry.
Max owned and operated Max F. Spindler Plumbing & Heating in Bradford for many years.
Max enjoyed hunting, especially in the National Forest at his family camp he helped to build as a young child. He was an avid downhill skier into his eighties, was a talented handyman who tackled any type of project, including stained glass, and was actively involved at the Senior Center. Above all else, Max cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by one daughter, Diane Spindler (Robert Christian), one son, Jerry (partner Debby Boser) Spindler, daughter-in-law Betty Spindler, long-time partner Harriett Wick, brother Robert (Judy) Spindler, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a one nephew.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna, and one brother Raymond "Bud" Spindler.
A private family service will be held in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. followed by burial at Willow Dale Cemetery.

22 years ago on year eve day my husband and I became neighbors with Max. Excited happy new young (poor) home owers on a holiday with burst water lines within 2 hours .Our new neighbor then a young 77 without hesitation spent the majority of his day crawling around in the attic fixing our radiant heat and explaining how it worked as we had no clue. Going back and forth to his house for the proper tools as we didn't have much in the tool department. He refused any payment just said he was glad he was there to help. And so quite frankly so were we. Our prayers to the family during this time what a great man. We will miss him on the hollow.
