Sheldon Weeks Obituary
Humanitarian, educator, researcher, author, peace activist, conscientious objector, Quaker, beloved to his family. He lived with a passion for world travel, nature, the arts, and was a voracious reader and movie watcher. He enjoyed hiking, scuba diving, kayaking, camping, going on safari, visiting galleries and museums, attending music events and theater performances, and often had a hat on his head and a camera in his hand. Attended Swarthmore BA '54, Antioch MA '60, and Harvard EdD '68. From 1969 to 2013 he was a professor specializing in comparative education at universities in Uganda, Tanzania, and Papua New Guinea, and was founding dean of graduate studies in Botswana.
Predeceased by wives Sally Shoop, Mary Kironde, and Gudrun Schulz. Survived by sister Elinor Weeks, children Sara, Abigail, Harold, Edisa, and Kristina Weeks, two stepchildren, eleven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Kristina and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can remember your father visiting the college when you were attending. He came into my office to 'visit' as he recalled his days working in education and wanted to compare notes. Such a pleasant man. Deepest sympathy to you all.
