Brian Joseph Cybulski

1980 - 2021

On May 18, 2021, at approximately 3 p.m., Brian Joseph Cybulski was tragically taken from his family and friends in a fatal motorcycle accident.
Brian was born on Dec. 17, 1980 at Bristol Hospital to his mother and father Roxanne and Brian Cybulski of Terryville. Brian's family would later welcome a second boy, Brian's brother, Justin Cybulski, with whom he shared a wonderful relationship. As a child, Brian enjoyed family camping trips with his parents, brother, and family friends and loved to spend time with his grandparents, Joseph and Helen Cybulski; Robert and Jean Culver; and his beloved uncle and godfather Joey Cybulski.
Brian graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in 1998 and later went on the work at Yankee Harley Davidson where he would meet and fall in love with his future wife Barbara J. Anderson. Brian eventually left Yankee Harley Davidson to pursue his dream of becoming a police officer. He first joined the Plainville Police Department as a dispatcher and soon after became a well-liked, respected, and admired member of the Plainville police force. Brian was the type of police officer who was always on the lookout for a way to help. The Plainville community will miss him dearly.
Brian and Barbi married on March 16, 2013, on the islands of Turks and Caicos surrounded by their family and closest friends after almost 10 years together. Their wedding and week-long celebration were an absolute joy to everyone who knew them. Brian and Barbi were meant to be. On Feb. 12, 2018, Brian and Barbi welcomed their daughter Paisley Mae Cybulski to the world. They were so in love. Brian adored his "Pumpkin" with every part of his being.
Brian and Barbi loved to travel together to faraway beaches or to the Anderson family cottage in Rhode Island where they spent countless weekends boating, clamming, sitting fireside, and taking a break from the stresses of life. Brian looked forward to their annual Myrtle Beach vacation with the Senick family and crew.
Brian was the type of man who didn't just have friends. Brian's friends became his family, people he would show up for any day and any time. Brian loved his friends well and is leaving behind a group of broken-hearted brothers who he trusted beyond measure and knew would watch over his wife and daughter in life or death including his brother-in-laws Eric Anderson, Tim Bojanowski; his best childhood friends Peter Senick, Rob Alvey; and his brothers in blue Roman Blajerski, Greg Arvai, and many more.
Brian adored and shared a special bond with his three nephews Lucas, Landon, and Logan Cybulski. They will be deeply missing their uncle. His goddaughter Karissa Alvey also had a special place in his heart.
Brian enjoyed a close and loving relationship with Barbi's family and was recently heartbroken by the death of his father-in-law whom he adored. Also near and dear to Brian was the Daigle family, who have been vitally important to him throughout his whole life.
If you were lucky enough to know Brian, then you know that he was all heart and soul. He loved, protected, and cherished those that were important to him and had the heart to help others beyond most people's capacity. He was incredibly loved in his life and will continue to be loved and cherished in his death by many, many people whose lives he touched. True to Brian's desire to help others in life, he also chose to be an organ donor and will continue to help people even after life.
Brian also leaves his mother-in-law Helen Anderson, sister-in-law Stephanie Anderson Bojanowski, and sister-in-law Melissa Cybulski. He is predeceased by his grandfathers Joseph A. Cybulski and Robert Culver; his godmother and Aunt Laurel Kozikowski; and his father-in-law Stephen Anderson.
Services will be held on Friday, May 28, at the Lyceum located at 181 Main Street, Terryville, from 4 -8 p.m. A celebration of Brian's life will follow on Saturday, May 29 from 1 -6 p.m. at the Thomaston Fish and Game Club located at 730 Old Northfield Road, Thomaston, CT.
