Carol Vasile Obituary

BRISTOL

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Aunt Buzz Vasile, who left us on December 26, 2024. Born on February 6, 1938, in Bristol, CT, she was a lifelong resident of the city and a cherished member of the community.

Carol was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Buzanoski and the sister to her late brother, Stephen Buzanoski. She was the beloved wife of Donald Vasile for over 63 years, and a devoted mother to her two daughters, Catherine Mafale Bailey and her husband, Steven, and Lynn McCall and her fianc, Andrew Tierpack. She was also the proud grandmother of Jenna Mafale Valle and her husband, William, and Anthony Mafale and his wife, Hannah. Her legacy continues with two step-grandchildren, Nikki Bailey and her fianc, Eric Piskorski, and Joseph Bailey and his wife, Brianna, as well as her great-granddaughter, Natalie. Carol had a special place in her heart for her extended family, including her brother's children, Karen and Matthew Buzanoski. Her godchildren, April Gagnon Gallagher, Pamela Blaisdell, Kimberly Granger, and Roberta Cote also held a special place in her life. She shared close bonds with her cousins, Barbara Blaisdell, Robert and Claire Lewandoski, Dorothy Morrocco, Beverly Kowalsky, Walter and Ruth Lewandoski, and Lorraine Traskos. A remembrance of Arthur McCall and the impactful role in her life.

Carol's life was deeply enriched by her lifelong friendships, particularly with Patricia Allen, who she met at Connecticut General in Bloomfield. Their 65-year friendship was a cherished gift. She also formed lasting bonds with colleagues at Furey, Donovan, O'Donnell and Heiman, where she worked as a paralegal for over 47 years. Among her closest friends were Michael Daly, Patrick Cooney, and Bonnie Ogonowski, with whom she shared many memories and laughter.

A graduate of Bristol High School in 1955, Carol worked as a secretary before finding her true calling as a paralegal. She possessed a brilliant, sharp mind, and continued to impress with her intellect right until her passing. Carol's love for life was evident in the many ways she enriched the lives of others. A beloved hostess, she began an annual Fourth of July party at the farm in 1970, a highlight of the summer that brought together over 100 family members and friends. The event was known for its creativity and joyful themes, creating memories that will last for generations. Carol also enjoyed following the UCONN Women's Huskies, planning family events, tending to her garden, and spending time with her bowling league buddies, Shirley Gagnon and Margaret Stafford. She found joy in Scrabble, crossword puzzles, and even wrote poems and a childrens book short story. Her family and friends were her world, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and devotion.

Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends and family may call on January 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010.
