Steven Anthony Posa

BONITA SPRINGS, FL

Steven Anthony Posa, 77, of Bonita Springs, Florida peacefully passed away on August 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. We all knew he lived life on his own termsperfectly captured by the words of Frank Sinatra, I did it my way. Steven was born in Bristol, CT on March 16, 1948, and was the son of the late Anthony and Marjorie Posa (King). He was enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1972. Steven spent most of his life in Bristol before relocating to Florida in 2016. Throughout his career, he was deeply committed to his work as the owner of three local businesses in Bristol. Later, he transitioned into a successful role as an accounting consultant. In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Steven held several notable professional credentials, including being a licensed real estate agent and a notary public. He also served the community as commissioner on the water board in Bristol. Steven's greatest joy came from being a grandfather, always full of surprises and fun. With his beloved wife, Carol, by his side, he treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, proudly embracing his role as their Papa. Whether he was cheering from the sidelines at their sporting events, playing card gamesalways aiming to win, or the annual holiday scratch offs and Easter egg hunt, he delighted in every opportunity to be part of their lives. They filled his heart with joy, and his days with love and laughter. Steven also cherished the meaningful time he spent with his many friends, whom he considered family. Whether attending Super Bowls, going on golf trips across the country, or simply sharing countless hours over wine and cigars, he valued every moment. His warmth, loyalty, and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Anyone who knew Steven was aware of his love for sportswhether it was golf, baseball, softball, racquetball, or bowling, his passion was evident, and his impressive calf muscles were proof of his dedication. Steven enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and cheering on his favorite teams: the New York Yankees and the UConn Men's and Women's basketball teams. Steven is survived by his daughters Melissa Posa of Cromwell and Christin Labriola and husband Fran of Bristol, his son Anthony Posa of Waterbury, and his cherished grandchildren Jack, Kate, Luke and Drew. He also leaves behind many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins who brought great joy to his life. Steven will always be remembered for his quick wit and humor, his wealth of knowledge, and the deep, heartfelt conversations he shared. He was a thoughtful listener, a steady presence, and the most devoted supporter of his family and friends. The family would like to thank his medical teams at US Renal Care and Vitas who provided outstanding support and care during this difficult time. We will gather to celebrate Steven's life at a later date. Details will be shared with loved ones once they are available. The family requests that donations be made in his honor to the American Kidney Fund.

Dear Carol and family,
Cousin Steve was always a strong presence in my life growing up. I will forever cherish our family memories and all us cousins horsing around when we were young; me being the "baby" amongst the 4 of us, lol. Countless memories flood my thoughts. One i will always remember is Steve, home on leave, looking so handsome in his Air Force uniform; and the emptiness and sadness i felt when he´d have to return overseas. Now an emptiness and sadness once again fill my heart at his departure. However, as Psalm 30:5 reminds us: " Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning". My faith allows me the hope in Christ to know that one day, our days will once again be brighter, and we WILL be reunited with our beloved ones who have gone on before us! Eternally serving and praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Until that day; may each of you be held and filled with the Love, comfort, Peace and strength found in Christ and warmed by the love and lifted up by the prayers of all who care about you. My heartfelt condolence´s; in just loosing Fred, after 40 blessed years of marriage, i can truly truly relate to the absolute raw heartache, the sense of loneliness amidst profound loss and gut-wrenching sadness that engulfs you. Wave after wave after wave. Walk by faith and not by sight....God IS and WILL ALWAYS be with us all!

With much love and deep sadness,
Jan Tedesco
