Alvin Buffum Obituary

Of Marilla, NY. Passed away peacefully after a long and heroic battle against cancer. Survived by his son Brock, daughter-in-law Shannon, sister Carol, niece Teri, nephew Steven, and other loving relatives. He was a graduate of Iroquois High School and an employee of Moog, Inc. for roughly thirty years. No visitation or services will be held per his request. In lieu of flowers, please consider a Memorial Contribution to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in honor of his lifelong love of birds.

I´ve been trying to find Mickey for many years. I did not realize his name was Alvin. So, I kept hitting a dead end. I´m assuming I finally found him... but too late. If it´s the Mickey I knew... he lived on four rod road in Marilla. We were neighbors. In 1970, I was 9 years old. He was maybe 18. He visited us often and was like a member of our family. I have no brothers... but Mickey was like one, to me. I´m very sorry for your loss. If he remained the guy I once knew... you were all very lucky to have him in your lives. We moved away from Marilla in 1974 and settled in Wyoming County. Mickey made the trek to see us, a few times, until life took us all in different directions. It feels like yesterday, that he and I were throwing a football in the yard. I have one picture of him, on Christmas Day with my family. I´ve looked at it many times over the years. Take care.
