Of Alden, NY. Beloved husband of the late Jane (nee Blackwood) Andrews; dear father of Carla Andrews; loving step-father of Brandon (Alice) Calmes; grandfather of Isis Deloatch, Charlee Wright, Shawn and Tyler Calmes; son of the late Doris Andrews; brother of Dr. Curtis (Mary) Andrews, Sr. and the late Evon Andrews and late William Andrews; brother-in-law of Thora (Thomas) Perkins, William (Christine) Blackwood, Thomas Blackwood and Patricia (late Dennis) Gaffney; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will be present to receive friends at the CHARLES MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 13228 Broadway, Alden, NY on Monday, August 25th from 4-6:30 PM, followed by a Military Ceremony at 6:30 PM a Prayer Service at 7 PM. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at the WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Rd., Corfu, NY on Wednesday, August 27th at 10 AM. (Please assemble at the cemetery office at 9:45). Memorials may be made to the Gateway Home Attica or the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park. Andy served in the US Navy for 20 years and was a Vietnam War Veteran. While serving on the USS GATO as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, he was in charge of the Torpedo Room and all weapons on the boat.
