ZICCARELLI - David A. David passed away on January 11, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born August 29, 1950 in Lackawanna, NY to parents Margaret and the late Anthony. He met the love of his life, Joanne Nowak, swept her off her feet and married her in 1972. He kept his promise to her that "her life would never be boring." Dave is survived by his wife, Joanne; his Mom; brothers, Dennis (Karen), Dean (Marie), Daryl (Maria), Dana (Michele), and several nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends. David began his career in the insurance business in Buffalo and found that his engaging personality was a perfect fit. He quickly rose in the ranks to Sales Management with Prudential. He moved to Naples, FL in 1986 working in sales with several insurance agencies and other companies in SW Florida. Dave was devoted to the community, serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of North Naples United Methodist Church, Chairman of the Hodges University President's Council and active on boards for the Manufacturers Association, Neighborhood Health Clinic and several other essential community organizations. He was especially active with the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs Noon serving as one of the club's first presidents. He was honored as Rotarian of the Year many times and was instrumental in leading the Club's Foundation because it supported the community's needy and provided several scholarships each year to deserving high school students. He often brightened the club's festivities with his famous margaritas, mai tai's or some other "signature drink." He will be missed by so many. If you were lucky enough to have met David, you would remember him as a friend because he would have made it a point to brighten your day. You might have greeted him with, "Hi," and he would have replied, "Yes I am, thanks for noticing!" Services will be held on March 11, 2018 at 12:30 PM at the North Naples Church, 6000 Goodlette-Frank Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs Noon Foundation (Dave Z. scholarship fund), PO Box 1092, Bonita Springs, FL 34133. Moreover, the family asks that you make a toast to Dave's humor and enduring memory.
