Beloved husband of 59 years to Donna (nee Roberts) Darrell; loving father of Laura (Frank) Johnson and Jennifer (Daniel) Darrell-Sterbak; cherished grandfather of Caleb (Behnaz) Johnson, Isaac (Jordyn Gilbert) Johnson, Chloe (Asher Worral) Johnson, Owyn Darrell-Sterbak, and Nella Darrell-Sterbak; son of the late Roy and Mildred (nee Smith) Darrell; brother of the late Leroy Darrell; also survived by relatives and friends. Mr. Darrell was a former leader of the CSB Battalion with his local church for many years. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC. At first I wasn't sure if this was the same "Doug Darrell from IBM" that I knew when I worked at Marine Midland Bank/HSBC, many many years ago. But reading another condolence message, I see it is the same man. Doug was a knowledgeable, helpful technician who always made me feel comfortable asking any questions. But more importantly, he was a good guy and a man of faith. Doug was truly a class act. My condolences to his family for their great loss.

Having worked with Doug, in his capacity as a Systems Engineer at IBM (i.e. providing technical support to our IBM sales team, as well as our customers) , he was a person who "checked all the boxes" ... Intelligent ... conscientious ... hard working ... mild mannered ... considerate ... professional. It is sad to have lost him, but we're thankful to have known him.
