Dear Schnirel family i went to high school with Matt,and was taken back by the news of his passing.I have not been in contact with him since high school but have since not stopped thinking of memories of him and they brought a smile to my face.He was a great guy.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Matt. I remember him as a very bright and active five year-old in my kindergarten class at Willow Ridge. The years have flown by and Matt had accomplished so much. How proud you must be of all he had become! God bless you all as you try to come to grips with his passing. I pray that you will find peace and that the love you have for him will help you to get there.

Schnirel Family, I remember Matt from Greenwood Pool. He was the best lifeguard in the world, always so kind to everyone. My granddaughter loved him, he always made her feel like she was an important person. Know that in his short lifetime, Matt touched many people's lives in a good way. My sincere condolences go out to all his loved ones.

We used to live in Charlesgate and spent many, many summer days at the pool with Matt watching over us. My daughter loved to play and joke with him. He was a joy. I'm so very sorry to see his life was cut short. My condolences to his family and friends.

There are no words that I can express to you of the shock when I heard the news of Matt. When I heard the news my mind instantly recalled all the stories and laugh's that you shared with us about Matt while we were working. My thoughts and prayers will be with you, Kevin, and the family over the weeks to come. I have been thinking of all of you since Scott woke me up at 12 in the morning to tell me... I am stil in shock and funny how you remember all the good times now when something terrible happens but forget about them daily when they are just as important. All of you are like a family to the DeMeester's and I want you to know that Scott feels as though he has lost a family member and shares memories daily. We are thinking of you and will keep praying for all of you to get through this time. I am not sure why God has decided to challenge your family because you are all very wonderful. matt was an awesome bloke and he will be sorely missed.
I have been thinking about him non stop since the horrible news,and its saddens me so much,but I also remember the times when I was able to share a quiet chat and beer with him. These times I will always cherish and never forget..as he was cool and understanding mate,he said some really cool stuff to me last time when I was in buffalo and really made me think how much of a truly amazing & understanding human being he was.
I still have the photo of him,myself,Luke and Trevor at the bar in Hawaii looking like a bunch of monkeys. This photo shows how much love we shared..drinking and having a good old yarn about life know where ever he is now he's looking down smiling and sipping his beer,flipping his cap backwards and cracking jokes. I hope someday we'll meet him there..I will miss him and he will never be forgotten by our family and myself. Your so loved.
