While many who read this don't know me, I wanted to extend my thoughts and prayers to the family of one of the finest people I have ever met. Maurice always did the right thing and could crack that smile of his to make everything look better in any situation.

To the VanSice family my deepest sympathy, I know how difficult the loss can be as I recently lost my husband. Maurice and I were classmates in Pharmacy School. He was a great guy, very enthusiastic and a true class leader.

"Remembrances of Maurice "Morey" Van Sice" I wish to express my deepest condolences to Morey's wife, Kathy, and his children, Maurice (Moe), Cynthia, Michele and Barb upon the death of her husband and their father, Maurice. I first met Morey in the summer of 1961 when his friend, Ralph Vanner, was dating my sister, Sylvia. They were very close friends, and our relationship ensued over 56 years. Over those years my wife, Mary, and I had numerous occasions where we would socialize with Morey and Kathy. Those truly were good times, and they were a joy to be with. When we first met Morey had a 1947 or 1949 Buick. It was a beautiful car, and as we reminisced he always regretted selling it. Throughout the times we spent together I observed that Morey was a very kind, caring and wise man with high integrity. I liked him a lot, and I always enjoyed his company. Our conversations always seemed to end about the Buick that he wished he had never sold. As the years passes, families grew, obligations changed and we saw less of each other. New deadlines and commitments forced that to happen. When he told me that he was ill, I felt very bad and yet he faced it with remarkable courage. When he worked at Tops Pharmacy he made sure that my father's prescriptions were in order and it gave me the opportunity to again socialize with him when I went to pick them up. He always asked how I was doing and always had a bit of advice for me. I treasure that. I also noticed how his customers liked and respected him. He showed a genuine concern for them. To them he was more than just their pharmacist. He was their friend and cared about them: truly an admirable trait. In the past years we saw less of each other, but both Morey and Kathy are close to our heart. When one passes, we think of the memories we shared together. Our memories of Morey will always remain and will always fit just right. Together with Kathy they raised a wonderful family and knowing Morey, he would say that he had a good life. The attributes and examples he showed will never have age condemn them. Morey's life is over, but his legacy will endure. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have known you.
All our love, From Mike and Mary Pachla

I have great memories of Maurice when he would help out at Koehler Redden Drug Store (for Fran and Don). Or we would swap 'product' with him at Nalbachs. He was a true gentleman!
RIP Maurice.

To the Van Sice Family - My deepest condolences on the loss of a great man. I worked closely with Maurice for the past 30 years as he has been a preceptor for UB pharmacy students for at least that long or longer. I was sad a few months ago when he called to tell me that he couldn't take our students any longer because of his health. He was a mentor to many, many students and always a pleasure to work with.

Kathy and all of your family: Mike and I express our sincere sympathy for you. He always spoke so lovingly about each of you through the years and we watched your family grow through his eyes. He was such a dear, genuine person, and those in his company felt his care. It was a privilege to share the joy, gift and ministry of music with him.
