Harry Dow Obituary

GASTONIA - Harry "Steve" Dow, 83, passed away Jan. 25, 2013, at VA Medical Center, Salisbury.

He was born May 24, 1929, in Chelan County, Wash., son of the late Matthew Steele Dow and Opal Fay Dodge Dow.

Mr. Dow was a US Air Force, Korean War Veteran.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. David Pittman.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Military honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances Dow of the home; sons, and daughters in-law, Tony and Robin Dow of Gastonia, Mike and Patsy Dow of Alabama, Matt Dow of Fayetteville, Jeff Dow of OK; brother and sister in-law, Don and Sharon Dow of OR; grandchildren, Andrew Dow, Eric Dow, Jason Barker; 20 great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: sons, Nick Dow, Michael Barker, Randy Barker; granddaughter, Stephanie Dow.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
