Vance Jr., Dan and Family:

Your Father/Brother was "The Best Man I have had the fortune to meet". He treated my family as if it was his own. Protecting my kids and I throughout the 2004 Hurricaines, when we were without my husband. If it wasn't for his kindness, I may have considered repacking my boxes and returning to Buffalo. He is so proud of you, he showed me his picture from the Military and loved the fact that he resembled you Vance Jr.. He was constantly donating money to charities and helping everyone in need. The selfless acts are endless. He was our angel when he was reintroduced into our lives and now he has secured that position forever. Your father played a role in our lives that resembled a father to me. I am selfishly sad of his departure from us, but understand that he is at peace with love and happiness forever. We spoke on the telephone a short time ago and he will always and forever be my friend. Please know that he loves you all very much and will continue to watch and protect each and every one of you. Sorry for your loss.

As an old family friend I will always have memories of Vance. Growing up as I did on Olcott Place, I watched Vance grow as a child and teen-ager, an image of his Mother and Father. The Garrow Family mourns your loss but I will share his memory with my wife Louise and 5 sons.

Scioli Family:

My sincerest sympathy. It is sad to hear when we lose a classmate at the beginning of the relaxing and enjoyment times of our lives. Vance was a guardian to me at times in high school; there to stand by me if a few ruthless bad boys ganged up on me. My Dad was a cop too. Vance understood. I had the honor of being Vance's tax man and neighbor for a few years. His kindness extended beyond his family as he also helped out my wife once in my absence. He was truly a big-hearted guy. We will all miss him.

Dan and Vance, We cannot begin to express how saddened we are over this loss. We will miss all of the great times we had, and we will always remember what a ball we had together as kids. As sad as we are, every time we talk about Uncle Vance, we end up laughing. His unique sense of humor will stay with us always. We will miss him, but know in our hearts that he is in a better place and free from pain. Love,

to vance's family. I have not seen vance in several years....I think it was since 1999...but I will never forget his personality and his penchant for goofing around. I went on a fishing trip with him and his family to the thousand Islands back in the early 1980's and I will never forget when my then 3 year old son woke up after a nap. Kevin commented to Vance that he thought Vance looked a little like "fat albert! Vance laughed and laughed....i guess it was the way my son said it! Vance in turn said my son looked like "Howdy Doody" It still makes me laugh now when i think of it...some twenty two years ago....but seriously though, there is another thing i will always remember: vance said to me when he helped me out on a personal problem...he said "mary, you are only as screwed up about a situation as you allow yourself to be". and how true that is! I recalled that conversation we had many years ago.....when a new dilemma popped up in my life recently.....as it helped me put things into proper perspective.

He was a good man and a generous one at that! God bless him!

Vance Jr. and Danny,

Your father was a Brother and Uncle we should all be so fortunate to have. Extremely generous, kind and thoughtful, and one whose antics filled our days with so much laughter. In spite of the challenges he faced, he was there for us ALWAYS, never waiting to be asked what we needed. A bigger heart did not exist on this earth. While it is so sad to know that such a beautiful light is gone from this world, we will carry him in our hearts forever.

Peace and rest to your father, our Uncle, and most amazing brother.

Love,

Aunt Sharon
