Richard Kimmerle Obituary

CHINO VALLEY, Arizona – Richard "Blue" Lee Kimmerle, 67 years old, passed away at home, following a long illness, on Friday, July 18, 2025, in Chino Valley, Arizona.
He was born on July 6, 1958, in Independence, Iowa, the son of James Donald and Marjorie Louise (Gericke) Kimmerle. He graduated high school with the class of 1976 in Jesup, Iowa. On December 31, 1977, he and Rebecca Lynne Greenwood were married in Independence.
He was a member of the USAF, stationed at Lackland AFB, Texas, in 1976. He was honorably discharged. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 40 in Chino Valley, for 12 years.
He was an HVAC technician for various companies for 48 years. He retired in July 2023. He enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races, watching football and westerns, and playing solitaire.
Richard is survived by his wife Rebecca; two daughters, Megan Sandberg of Marion, Iowa, and Tiffany Kimmerle of Chino Valley; five grandchildren: Michaela Kimmerle, Austin Kimmerle, Isaiah Kimmerle, Rylee Sandberg, and Ethan Sandberg; one great grandchild, Luca Correa, and another on the way; one sister, Sandra (Larry) Hosford of Monticello, Iowa; one brother Gary (Sharon) Kimmerle of Marceline, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is proceeded in death by his son Richard James Kimmerle; his parents; and four brothers: James, William, Thomas, and Charles.
ABC Funerals in Chino Valley, Arizona, is in charge of arrangements.
Services will be set in Iowa in the summer of 2026.
