Edward Kaplan Obituary
Age: 84 • Memphis, TN
Dr. Edward Steven Kaplan, 84, of Memphis Tennessee died peacefully in his home on July 18, 2017. He was married to Linda Stone Kaplan for 59 years and is the father of Dr. Andrew Kaplan (Dr. Nathalie Feldman) and Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan (Amanda Green). Edward was known affectionately as "Gramps" to his four grandchildren, Jessica and Benjamin Kaplan of Burlington, and Brackets and Samantha Kaplan of New York City.
Dr. Edward Kaplan was a 1955 graduate of Yale University, received his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his residency in neurosurgery at the Mayo Clinic. He practiced medicine in Memphis for 37 years. He was a brilliant physician and a humble renaissance man.
Since his retirement 15 years ago, he and his wife Linda enjoyed spending their summers in Vermont. Linda Kaplan, a native New Englander, will be moving to Vermont to be closer to family.

I worked with Dr Ed Kaplan as a Cat scan tech back in the late 70's , early 80's at Baptist Hospital Central. He was a kind man to both his patients and to the people he worked with. I remember him as a thoughtful and caring man and doctor. RIP Dr. Ed
