Beth Howlett Obituary

Beth Ellen (Cromie) Howlett, 78, of Millsboro, Del., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025.
Beth was a 1964 graduate of Ken High and a 1968 graduate of Gettysburg College with a degree in music. She taught music in the Sussex school system in Southern Delaware for 37 years, retiring in 2007.
Beth was a fun-loving, intelligent, talkative person who, with her husband, Bill Howlett, traveled to at least 15 countries abroad multiple times. But her favorite place was Cape May, N.J., where she visited once a year for every year of her life. Her parents, and later, her brother, Dell Cromie, maintained a second home there and she was always ready to visit.
She also loved to entertain; "Wine & Cheese" parties at her home were legendary for 40 plus years. This tradition has been carried on by her daughter, Meghan Wilson.
Beth is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill Howlett of Millsboro, Del.; her daughter, and son-in-law, Meghan (Howlett) and Sean Wilson of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Kenneth Wilson; her brother and sister-in-law, Dell and Linda (Zerblis) Cromie; three nephews, Adam, Zachary and Kellen Cromie; and first cousin, Judith Cromie; as well as numerous other cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth (Mason) Cromie, in 1999.
HOWLETT - Family and friends of Beth Ellen (Cromie) Howlett, who died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon Thursday, March 13, at FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, Pa.
Interment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell, Pa.
Beth's brother and sister-in-law, Dell and Linda Cromie, shall host a lunch and a "wake" to share remembrances of Beth at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, at Tarentum Station Restaurant, 101 Station Drive, Tarentum.
