Stephen Snider Obituary

A heart of gold stopped beating on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Stephen Bennett Snider, 52, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly while at work of natural causes.
Stephen "Beav" was born June 14, 1971, in Butler. He was the son of Robert A. Snider and Barbara A. (Horne) Snider.
Stephen was a proud graduate of Butler High School class of 1989. He went on to receive certificates as a journeyman and a precision machinist. He was a fourth-generation employee at the steel mill in Butler now known as Cleveland-Cliffs. Beav was a man of many talents and layers, unique to the core. He was an excellent marksman who won WPIAL gold with the Butler rifle team in 1988. Beav was an avid and accomplished pool player, participating in many local leagues and traveling across the country for billiards tournaments with his team. Cooking for others was Beav's love language.
He was a true empath. Once a friend of Beav's, you were a friend for life. You knew his quick wit, sharp memory, humor and selfless nature. He was most passionate about family. He embraced his role as Uncle Beaver to his cherished niece and nephews. He loved traveling with his Carrie Ann and found a true purpose in the life they were building together. He had a profound love for God and country. He was one-of-a-kind with a personality larger than life. A beautiful soul.
Stephen is survived by his life partner, Carrie Ann Ippolito, and her daughter, Madison (Chad) Ippolito. He is also survived by his loving parents, Barb and Bob; his sisters, Tracy (Nathan) Steadman, Becky (Jason) Terwilliger and Brenda (Eddie) Friel; his nephews, Bennett (Casey) Friel, Jackson Friel, Gavin (Olivia) Terwilliger, Gage and Grant Terwilliger and Greyson Steadman; niece, Emma Steadman; and great-niece, Francesca Friel.
SNIDER - Family and friends of Stephen Bennett Snider, who died Thursday, June 13, 2024, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
A prayer service will follow in the funeral home. A celebration of life will immediately follow at Sons of Italy, 133 S. Main St., Butler.
In lieu of flowers, Beav would say save your money and go do some good in the world! A random act of kindness in his honor is all Da Beav would want.

I didn't know of Steve's passing until today.
I met Steve the Beav back in June, 2012. Wow how unfortunate, what a great guy he was!! He touched the hearts of many and was definitely a one of a kind, with his outrageous genuine lavish humor. He will truly be missed. My condolences to his family and close friends. <3
