James Royal Hudspeth

Portland, TX

James Royal Hudspeth Jr., passed away October 13, 2016, at the age of 52. He was born in 1963, to Roy and Jane Hudspeth in Fort Worth, Texas but had lived in Portland since 1978.

Jim met his wife Shirley, on a blind date their junior year in high school. Together for 35 years, they had two sons, Lance and Colton. Jim enjoyed every minute coaching his sons in Little League Baseball. He cared deeply for his family and friends and could never be separated from his beloved dog Juno.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hudspeth of Portland, son, Lance Hudspeth of Greeley, Colorado, son Colton Hudspeth of San Antonio, his uncle Jim Fjerstad (Sandy), uncle Claude B. Hudspeth III (Ginger), and aunt, Mary Allene Hudspeth, his nephew, Ryan Reed, and nieces, Cassie Jones, Valerie Wilson, and Kaylen Eversole.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Church of Christ, 2009 Wildcat Dr., Portland, TX (361) 643-6571.
