SINCERE SYMPATHY, BERNICE MCCOWN

Our deepest sympathies go out to Sue and all Mike's extended family. He was a wonderful friend. The early loss of his dear brother Joe, sisters Mary Ann and Betty took a great emotional and physical toll on him. He wanted only the best for Sue and talked with joy of times shared with Kate and her family, Mic, Sharon, and all his other nieces, nephews, and relatives. He had hoped to spend time restoring the historic cabin on the family property and documenting his family tree but time ran out all too soon. Mike served his country honorably in Vietnam and then continued to serve with the Marines for decades, making that long drive from Dickinson to Dallas monthly to report for duty. He enjoyed volunteering at the VFW calling bingo and helping other veterans. Mike will be deeply missed by those he touched.

Mike and I have been genealogical cousins since we were teenagers and later we discovered how we shared our common McCown immigrant ancestors.
Now he can visit all his ancestors and get their stories first person.
I always enjoyed visiting with Mike and Sue talking and studying family tales.
Mike was a true friend and will be greatly missed

Mike and I chased McCowns at least since 1965, and never got all the answers. He was a great cousin and friend. My sincere sympathy to Sue and his many cousins. I am sorry I could not be there to express this in person. Love, Leonard & Marge McCown

I worked with Mike during the 80s and 90s. He was a very nice caring individual, a pleasure to be around. Sue, Jeannie and I send our condolences to you and Mike's extended family.
