Jill, I am so sorry for the loss of your Papa. I too know how hard it is to lose your champion. I pray that Jesus wraps his loving arms around you and eases your pain. Think of him getting on a boat and saying goodbye to you and then landing on the other side and being greeted by his loving family who have passed and Jesus. He has taught you to be a kind and strong person and you should be proud that he was your knight in shining armor. He will always watch over you and be proud of the woman you have become.

I'm so sorry to hear that Dave is no longer with us. He was always a strong, quiet, and humble person. His demeanor made him seem a lot older than the rest of us young ones.

Back in the late 60's Dave and I had a routine. In the summer when it got dark, I would go out and sit on my parents front porch. Dave would do the same across the street on his parents porch. We would both light a cigarette. That was the signal. We would then meet on the sidewalk and walk to John's bar for a couple of 25 cent fishbowls and to talk to Mary the barmaid. Going and coming we would try to make sense of the world and once in a while relive the latest big pool game between the likes of Luch, Cobedash, Morino and the others. Dave was no slouch on the tables. I envied his stroke.

We took that walk many times over a couple of summers and had a lot of good discussion.

May God Bless him and have mercy on his soul.
