James Steerman Obituary

James W. Steerman 2016
72 years of age, went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 25, 2016 in Akron, Ohio, after struggling with a long-standing illness. James was retired from Nickles Bakery in Navarre, Ohio, after 31 years of employment. He was very proud of the fact that he never missed a day of work and received a certificate honoring that achievement from the bakery. He also received a certificate from the governor of West Virginia for not missing any days of school during his high school career. James loved taking care of the yard, hunting, fishing, bowling, playing softball, going to auctions, collecting pocket knives, tinkering, helping people, serving his God and being with his family. He was extremely proud of his two grandchildren. James Steerman was a devoted member of the Church of Christ.
James was the loving father of Melissa (Todd) Zacour; and attentive grandfather to Serena Zacour and Connor Zacour. His siblings are: Doris Christian of Lewisburg, W.Va., Edward Steerman of Elkins, W.Va., June (Melvin) Swick of Belington W.Va., Ilona (Shirley) Napier of South Point, Ohio, Carol (William) Perks of Springfield, Ohio, Wilda (James) Martin of South Point, Ohio, and Charles (Mary) Steerman of Belington, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Burton Steerman, and his mother, Mabel Brady Steerman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday (TODAY) at the funeral home.

Uncle James,
You were well loved. By your daughter and grand children, sisters and brothers. The love one collects in life says a lot about who they were and the difference they made in life. You can be proud of the love you collected.
You will be missed.
