Dear Barbara,

I was very saddened to learn of Pat's passing in this months FLEXO Magazine.

Pat and I worked together a few times while he with BFG, APR and then on his own and I always enjoyed seeing him and reminiscing at FTA Forums.

Please accept my deepest sympathies and extend them to your family [which he spoke of frequently].

Life was not without turmoil for each of us as we faced the many
challenges of the work place, loss of loved ones and illnesses to our
families. Pat's strength was championed by his inward desire to be the
best he could be, and to help others in their time of woe.

God lends us our friends, our parents and our families to hold and
cherish in this life. When He takes them Home, He is not taking them
from us, but just bringing them Home to where they belong. Until we meet
again, Pat is enjoying his reward in Heaven and will certainly be
looking after each of us. What a reunion it will be when we all meet again.

Our love and sympathy are with you all,

an irish poem from your cousin & brother.feel no guilt in laughter,he'd know how much you cared.feel no sorry in a smile that he he's not her to share.you cannot grieve forever;he would not want you to.he'd hope that you could carry on the way you always do,so talk abouth the good times & the way you showed you cared, the days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.let memories surround you,a word someone may say.will suddenly recapture a time,an hour, a day, that brings him back,as clearly as though he was still here.and fills you with the feeling that he is always near.for if you keep those moments, you'll never be apart.

A friendly person who knew no strangers. All who spoke with Pat were instant friends. Pat and I know each other from our St.Paul's and Hoban days. I lost my connection as time passed but recently were reconected by the St.Paul's facebook.. I noticed immediatly that he hadn't changed. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Barb, words can't adequately summon the grief and sadnees. I am praying that you find consolance in Pat's love he had for you and your children.

Pat Craven was my Youth Football Coach in 1987 and 1988. He had a natural gift of teachinig kids. He taught us a lot about football and he always made things fun. Each year he made a point that we would learn a lot about life. We did. The biggest lesson I learned from Coach Craven was that the true heroes of our country are the people like him who invest in building stronger communities by teaching the young ones. As an adult I appreciate more and more that I was blessed enough to have wonderful people in my life such as Pat Craven who dedicated so much of his time and talents. I pray for his family and I hope they realize that he touched many lives in a positive way.
