RAY BATSON Obituary

Ray A. Batson

age 84, of Canton, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 with his family at his side. He was born November 5, 1936 in Mannington, WV to the late Arlie and Suda (McGill) Batson. Ray was a graduate of Mannington High School, and was a US Marine Corps veteran. Ray worked for more than 30 years for the Louisville Public Schools and Plain Local Schools.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stacy Allen Batson; and brother and sister-in-law, Charles Norman (Ruth) Batson. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol S. (Fach) Batson; children: Charles (Laura) Batson, Rae Lynn (Dave) Savage, Kelly (James Kennedy) Tice, and Mark (Heather) Batson; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one niece, Suda Ann (Mike) Stritzsinger; and dog, Jessie.

A private family funeral is planned with interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org. Arrangements under the direction of Karlo-Libby Funeral Home.
