Rosemarie Ianni
Rosemarie Ianni, age 72, of Canton, died Thursday August 17, 2006 in her home following a brief illness. She was born May 1, 1934 in Canton, to the late Herman and Mary (Mesnyak) Gonzalez. She was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1952 graduate of Lincoln High School. Rosemarie was a graduate of Kent State University and received her Special Education Certificate from Walsh College. She retired from Canton City Schools in 1994 after serving as a teacher at St. Mary's, Allen Elementary and Fairmont Elementary; she was also formerly employed by the Timken Company for six years. Rosemarie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton, where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was awarded Teacher of the Year at Fairmont Elementary and had also served as a Girl Scout Leader for several years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant brother, David Gonzalez. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Christine Ianni of Woodridge, VA, Linda and Tony Gambow of Hartville; four grandchildren, Sarah Ianni, Nick, Rachel and Joshua Gambow; two brothers and one sister; special friends, Rev. Melvin and Lois Leidig, Regina Segeti, Linda Glover, Eva Black, Dolly Sousaris, Ann Haren and Garnet Moore. A memorial mass will be Tuesday August 22, 2006 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic with Fr. Gerald Sommer, MSC as Celebrant. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mercy Hospice at 7568 Whipple Ave NW, N. Canton, OH 44720. Condolences or fond memories may be sent on line to www.sandersfuneralhomes.com
