Tom will be missed. He was a kind man who enjoyed learning and teaching and was always eager to talk about what he was reading. He would frequently quiz on some fact he had learned and then ask what you thought about an issue. He would greet us with a big smile when we went to visit. However, we are not certain whether he was more delighted to see us or the fruit turnovers we brought! They were a favorite of his. Tom cared deeply for his family and we share in their grief. We regret that he was not able to take us out to dinner as he wanted to do, but we will take a rain check and hope to have a heavenly dinner with him and Dorothy sometime.

So very sorry to learn of Dr. Ling's passing...we will miss him. What a wonderful, loving husband! Our thoughts and prayers are with David & Steven. Rest in peace, Dr. Ling.

A unique friend and colleague. One who made a difference in the lives of many. Such happy memories recalling stimulating conversations. He listened and - sometimes - even altered his thinking. Regardless there was always mutual respect alongside strong devotion and love of his family.
