David Gary Tipton, 62, a resident of Odenton and formerly of Severna Park, died Dec. 6 at his home.
Mr. Tipton was born Aug. 22, 1947, in Knoxville, Tenn., to Ruth and the late Elmer Tipton. He graduated in 1970 from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
He worked for Northrop Grumman for 24 years. He loved spending time with his family and travelling, golf and playing on the computer.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Beth Tipton; his daughter, Jennifer Shipley and husband Travis of Baltimore; and his brother, Darrell Tipton of Australia.
Memorial visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at which time a memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road in Odenton. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, MD 21401 or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 825 Hammonds Ferry Road, Suite H-J, Linthicum, MD 21090.
