Robert E. "Bob" Rogers, Jr., aged 75, of Harwood, MD, passed away at his home on September 14, 2024. Born August 10, 1949, in Prince George's County, MD, he was the son of the late Robert Rogers and Frances Prout McMillian, and the stepson of the late Alfred "Mac" McMillian. Bob was a Master Electrician and the owner of Anchor Electric. He was a respected member of South River Bible Church, where he devoted much of his time and resources. He loved fast cars, and cherished his restored 1969 Chevy Nova. Bob grew up taking care of horses and was a previous racehorse owner; he loved everything about them. He was a man with a heart of gold who cherished his family deeply and loved his five grandchildren fiercely. The love of his life, Linda, was not only his wife but his best friend. Together, they spent time on their 30-acre farm in Harwood. She affectionately referred to him as "Honey," a testament to their loving relationship. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda (Ringer) Rogers; sons, Robert E. Rogers, III (Tina), and Kirk B. Rogers (Brianne); grandchildren, Elena, Sophie, Thea, Kirk Jr., and Laci; brother, Freddie McMillian; and sister, Cherie McMillian Goetzke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances, stepfather, Mac, and brother, Paige McMillian. A Christian service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 W Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD 21035, on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Friends and family are invited to arrive at 1:00 p.m. to fellowship, with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served immediately after the service.
