Edna Maude Schmidt

1919 - 2015

Edna Maude "Maudie" Schmidt, age 96 of Stevensville, and formerly of Sykesville, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at her home. Born May 16, 1919 in Reisterstown, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Annie Allender Teal. She was the wife of the late Fred William Schmidt. She had been a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and holiday family gatherings. Surviving are daughters Patricia Anne Peach of Hanover, PA, Mazie Roberta Martin and her husband Charles of Stevensville, and Sharon Lee Yinger of Finksburg, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Jacob, Richard, and Willard Teal, Thelma Keck, Eleanor Gill, and Ida Brothers and by her sons-in-law Carroll Peach and Wayne Yinger. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment in Old Oakland Cemetery, Sykesville.
