Malone Gouge Obituary

Malone Gouge, 85, of Mount Airy, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Sept. 29, 1926, in Bakersville, N.C., he was the son of the late Arnold and Eva McKinney Gouge. He was the husband of Judy Ann Kelly Gouge.

He was the owner and operator of M. Gouge and Son Saw Mill. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons and daughters-in-law Joseph and Mary Gouge, of Pennsylvania, Terry and Shirley Gouge, Donald Gouge, Arnold Gouge, and William and Kim Gouge, all of Union Bridge, Phillip and Kathy Gouge, of Mount Pleasant, and Gary Michael Gouge, of Mount Airy; daughters and sons-in-law Eva Jane and David Jones, of Myersville, Patricia and Brian Weddle, and Sandy and Dwight Fulford, all of Myersville, and Kathleen and James Burleson, of New Windsor; a brother, Ernest Gouge; sisters Helen Morena, Joyce Bostic, Jean Shafer and Linda Tipton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a foster child, Albert Wayne Nash; brothers Paul and James Gouge; and sisters Pearl LaQuay and Edna Pierson.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Carpenter of Lebanon Fellowship officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
