Bobby Swofford Obituary

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 12 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 877 State Hwy JJ, Ozark, with visitation prior to services at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 13 at Edinburg Cemetery located at 530 NW Church St., Trenton, MO.
Bobby Gene Swofford, 81, passed away on Mar. 4, 2022. He lived his life throughout Missouri and Arkansas. Most just called him Gene. He lived life with a hard work ethic and served others. He had true love for people. He was a humble and gracious man. His passion was serving God, teaching others, and fellowship. He loved God, his wife Pat (my lady), his family, and life in general. He was one of the most gentle, kind, and loving men you have ever known.
A few things he enjoyed were fishing, feeding and watching the birds, and construction. There was a beautiful old log cabin he and Pat found and restored on their property.
Gene was born in Stone County to Amos and Ruth Swofford on Nov. 20, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Danny Swofford, and beloved wife Patricia J. Swofford (Kackley).
Gene was a contractor and also a preacher. He attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. He graduated May of 1976. He retired from preaching at age 76, after over 45 years of services to his community.
Gene is survived by his children Jeanetta (Norman) Clampitt of Wellsburg, WV, Sabrina (Doug) Palmer of Kansas City, MO, Jodi Graham (Brian Smith) of Kansas City, KS; and step-children Kevin (Peggy) Kackley of Mt. Sterlin, IL, Cindy (Willie) Macias of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Sharon (Carlos) Alvarado of Edmond, OK. He is also survived by brothers Ronnie (Tricia Swofford), Kenny (Donna) Swofford; and sister Brenda Swofford.
He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
