Marc M. Marotta, 78
On Monday, May 27, 2024, Marc passed away peacefully at home with his family surrounded by love. He was born on November 29, 1945 in Monterey, California to Nicola and Florence Marotta. Marc grew up in Monterey surfing, scuba diving and sailing catamarans . He had a deep love for the ocean. He met his wife, Sharon Ford at Monterey High School at the age of 14. They married February 12, 1965 and welcomed their daughter, Carrie shortly after and their son, Guy in 1969. In 1977 Marc and Sharon moved to Coeur d'Alene where he joined the Labors Union and worked as a Hod carrier/bricklayer until he retired in 2007.
During his retirement he joined a scuba diving team and he and his wife traveled to Honduras for a diving excursion . Marc loved Creature Features (Sci-if) movies and he always had the biggest best entertainment equipment to enjoy them on. Marc also joined the Spokesmen Motorcycle Club as the Sargent at Arms. He went on charity motorcycle runs up until his very last days. One of his proudest achievements was his 29 years of sobriety. He was truly one of a kind, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a man of endless wild stories. He will be greatly missed.
Marc is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon Marotta; daughter, Carrie and Kenny Burns; son, Guy and Allyson Marotta; grandchildren:
Karli and Douglas Ulery, Brittany and Bobby Helgeson, Casey Marotta; and great granddaughter, Ellie Helgeson.

A Graveside Memorial will be 10:30 am June 29, 2024 at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d' Alene, ID 83815. A gathering will follow at 26821 E. Eastland Ave., Newman Lake WA, 99205.
