John Knisely Obituary

John L. Knisely November 3, 1931 December 23, 2012 John L. Knisely, 81, of Howard, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born in Bellefonte on Nov. 3, 1931, a son of the late Jacob and Frances Gross Knisely. On Oct. 14, 1989, he married Hope G. Wert, who survives at home. John was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. He retired from Penn State after 25 years of service. He attended the Farrandsville United Methodist Church. John proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of The Bellefonte Legion, Elks Club and The Centre Squares. He enjoyed fly fishing in his earlier years. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Karen Imdorf (Karl), of Schnecksville; two sons, Gregory and Michael Knisely, both of Pennsylvania Furnace; one step daughter, Paula (Gary) Royer, of Pleasant Gap; two step sons, Kenneth and Richard (Nancy) Mitcheltree, all of Howard; and three grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Frances Frazier, of Illinois and Greta Moerschbacher, of Milesburg; and one brother, George, of Florida. Funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, 10 a.m., at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, with Pastor Sharon Nestlerode officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Eagle Cemetery, Boggs Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Farrandsville UMC, Attn: Pastor Sharon Nestlerode, P.O. Box 388, Lamar, PA 16848. Online condolences to www.Kader-Neff.com.

Hope,
Don't know if you will remember me. I used to wait on you and John at Thrift Drug in Bellefonte many yrs. ago. I occasionally would see the both of you out and about and you always were such a pleasant couple. I am so deeply sorry for your loss, John was a wonderful guy. Hopefully, our paths will cross again someday. God bless you.
