Cecile Kinnett Obituary
Cecile Small Kinnett, died Monday, September 3, 2007 at her residence. She was born July 15, 1926 in Kershaw, SC, the daughter of the late Beulah Small & DeHone Small.
She was a homemaker and an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she served on the Worship Committee and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She loved doing needlepoint, entertaining, and baking cakes for friends and family, but most of all she loved doing things for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Robert B. Kinnett; daughter, Pam Walker and husband Randy of Charlotte, daughter, Patty Baldwin and husband Art of Charlotte; son, Michael Kinnett and wife Karen of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Carrie Walker, Emily Walker, Matt Walker, Andrea Baldwin, Ben Baldwin and Carson Kinnett.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 5 at Hankins & Whittington, 1111 East Blvd. The Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 6, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2830 Dorchester Place, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn West cemetery, the Rev. Dewey Smith officiating.
The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to Barbara Graham and to Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte, especially Kathy Consorte, who cared for Cecile during her illness.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials be sent to; Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204, or the Barbara L. Carter Scholarship Fund at St. Paul UMC., 2830 Dorchester Place, Charlotte, NC 28209.
Arrangements are in the care of Hankins & Whittington, Dilworth Chapel, 1111 East Blvd., online at www.hankinsandwhittington.com.

Memories of so many good times with all of you are racing through my head. Aunt Cecile was the quintessential hostess and always made everyone feel so welcomed. We will all miss her warm, embracing personality and the wonderful meals she prepared from her heart. The best food ever. She had no equal in the kitchen. You are in my prayers.

Dear Bob and Family, Rick and I are so sorry for your loss. Cecile was one of the very first people I met when we moved to Charlotte 25 years ago.
