David Nivens Obituary

David Lloyd Nivens, 81, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 31, 2018.

David was born January 9, 1937, in Charlotte NC to Robert and Lillie May Nivens. He graduated from West Mecklenburg High School and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After serving his country, David joined the Charlotte Police Department from which he retired in 1981. He then was employed by Providence Day School as a Security Guard.

David is survived by his son, Mark Nivens (Susan); daughter, Angelia Nivens (Peter); grandchildren Courtney Teeter(Jeremy), Ian Nivens-Reynard, Max Nivens-Reynard; great grandchildren Wes Teeter and Wil Teeter; and many loving family members.

Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, June 9th, at Sardis Baptist Church in Indian Trail. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Indian Trail Lions Club, PO Box 298, Indian Trail NC 28079.
