Earl Hagans

Earl Sidney Hagans CHARLOTTE - Earl Sidney Hagans, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on May 27, 2014. He was born February 10, 1925 in Albemarle to the late Walter Lewis Hagans and the late Julia Earls Hagans. A resident of Carriage Club- Providence in Charlotte for the past year; he lived in Leland, NC for eight years. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 29, 2014, in the Church Parlor at First Baptist Church of Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Dan Freeman will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday at First Baptist Church of Albemarle. Burial will follow at the Fairview Memorial Park at 1425 East Main Street, Albemarle. Full military rites will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV Chapter #12. His surviving family includes his wife of 65 years, Hazel Almond Morton Hagans, daughter Delores Morton Eicher (Keith) of Cornelius, NC and son Sidney Allen Hagans (Judith) of Hickory, NC, grandchildren Michael L. Wolfe, Jr. (Ashley) of Huntersville, NC, Patricia Jean Krause (Greg) of Fort Mill, SC and T J Carter of Hickory. His seven great-grandchildren: Madison, Caroline, and Jackson Wolfe; Justin, Lisa, Nicole and Johanna Krause; and Jaden Carter, all called him "Punk." He is also survived by his sister, Betty Paige (Boyd) of Albemarle and was preceded in death by his brother, Walter L. Hagans, Jr., and two sisters, Elizabeth Shirley and Linda Knotts. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Albemarle, 202 North Second Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 or charity of one's choice.
