'Blair'
DAYTON, OH -- Mr. Conrad, Director of the Department of Aviation at the Dayton International Airport passed away on Friday, July 22, 2005 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Eugene 'Blair' Conrad, Jr. was born on August 19, 1946 in Winston Salem, NC to Eugene B. and Wanda Marie Conrad. Blair was an army aviator flying the OV-1 Mohawk in Vietnam and the Georgia Army National Guard. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1992 having accumulated over 5,000 hours in the OV-1 Mohawk.
He served as Airport Manager for Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, WI, Huntsville International Airport's Executive Director in Huntsville, AL, Airport Director at Worcester Regional Airport in Worcester, MA and he City of Dayton Director of Aviation in Dayton, OH.
Blair served as a Trustee of The National Aviation Hall of Fame, member Board of Managers for The National Museum of the United States Air Force Foundation, Trustee Member of The United States Air and trade Show, Inc. and member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Blair is also an Accredited Airport Executive of the American Association of Airport Executives.
Blair was preceded in death by his father and mother. Blair is survived by his three children and one grandson: daughter, Julie Mosher (Doug) of Oshkosh, WI, daughter, Ann Conrad (Jack) of Dayton, OH, son, Eugene B. Conrad, III (Amy) of Dayton, OH and grandson Ryne Mosher of Oshkosh, WI. Blair is also survived by five brothers and sisters: Beckie Richie, Robin Lane, Robert Conrad, John Conrad and Aggie King.
Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. on August 19, 2005 at the Wright Brothers Aero FBO hangar at the Dayton International Airport.
