Mohammed Toosi Obituary

Mohammed Ali Alizadeh Toosi CHARLOTTE - Mohammed Ali Alizadeh Toosi passed peacefully into God's light on his 96th birthday, January 1, 2018, at his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mohammed (Ali to many who knew him) was born in Mashhad, Iran in 1922 to Sadeg and Sogra Alizadeh Toosi. In his 30s he moved to the mighty state of Texas where its wonderful people welcomed him passionately into his new home in a way he would never forget. He worked very hard to obtain his PhD in nuclear physics at the University of Texas at Austin and successfully achieved such an incredible accomplishment. He met the love of his life, Teresinha Quadros when visiting our nation's capital. Thanks to Gods will, Teresinha was assigned his city of Austin to complete her Fullbright scholarship. They were married in 1963. Together they showed that love transcends cultures and religions. Every Sunday, Ali lovingly drove his wife to her church, and during the service, he waited for her outside. Together, they proudly raised two children, and shared their love, wisdom and compassion with many other kind Texans who took it upon themselves to make this family feel at home. A scientist and teacher at heart, Ali completed two other science degrees in his later life, and continued his profession as a college professor well into his 80s, retiring only because of hearing loss. When his and his wife's health declined, they left Austin and moved to a house across the street from their daughter and her family in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2013. Ali is now reunited with his beloved wife Teresinha, who passed away six weeks prior to his passing. He is also now reunited with his parents and sisters. His Spirit is carried forward by his children Soraya Toosi and Cyrus Toosi, as well as his son-in-law Alan Robinson Becker, daughter-in-law Halda Loup Toosi, grandchildren Camille and Walden Becker and Shelby Toosi and Ali's brother Mohammad Taghi Alizadeh Toosi. Heartfelt thanks go to too many people to name, who made it possible for the Toosis to have a wonderful life. Allah (God) is Great.

Pai,

I am missing you so much tonight. I can't sleep thinking of the good times we had. I went to a hockey game and remembered the time we all went to a game together. I will always love you. I miss you and mama so much. I am coming to see you soon. I love you with all my heart.

Pai,

Today is Super Bowl Sunday and I cant stop thinking of you. I remember the past Super Bowls we watched together. The Dallas Cowboys were dominant in the early 90s winning three of them. Although I was already in Tennessee, we talked about it a lot on the phone. I love you and miss you so much. Please take care of Mama as I know you will. I wish I was more like you. You and mama sacrificed so much for us.

Your son,
Cyrus

Dear Babajoon,
I cannot believe a month has gone by. A month, a year , an eternity is not long enough to list everything you did for us. A more devoted father there never was. I miss you so much.

We are so grateful to have met Ali. A strong man, who built a good life and took care of his family. Independent and resouceful, Ali seemed rarely unsure of what he wanted out of life and had high expectations of those around him. He and Nina quickly became part of our Charlotte community and we will miss them both. Our condolences to his family.
