Robert Isola Obituary

Robert Ames Isola CHARLOTTE - Robert Ames "Bo" Isola was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 10, 2013 surrounded by family, friends, love and prayers. Bo was born on July, 10, 1934 to Elizabeth O'Brien Isola and Vico Cacciatore Isola in Augusta, Maine. He is preceeded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Vico Cacciatore Isola, Jr. and David O'Brien Isola and his sister Betsy Isola Gaal. Bo is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Juniece Fluegge Isola, his three sons and their wives, Rick and Suzanne Isola of Charlotte, NC, David and Michelle Isola of Fort Mill, SC and Steven and Amy Isola of Danville, KY. "Poppy Bo" was blessed with five wonderful grandchildren, Katie Isola, Sarah Isola, Mary Elizabeth Isola, LiLi Jade Isola and Lenox Robert Isola. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many "adopted" family members who call him Uncle and Daddy Bo. Bo served his country in the Army and his community through the promotion of youth sports. Bo was very proud of the years he was Athletic Director and Varsity Basketball Coach for St. Ann's Catholic School in Charlotte, NC. His sons and all members of his teams learned about the game of life as well as the game of basketball. Bo was a member of Steele Creek Church of Charlotte. Here he developed a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and began his daily reading of the Bible. His home fellowship and men's groups became an essential part of his walk in faith. He and his brothers in Christ were bonded not only by their love for the Lord but also by their love for each other. Having worked in corporate sales and as his own employer for most of this life, Bo was amazed by the deep and abiding relationships that he developed through his Christ-centered life. The Isola family would like to thank Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill for the love, care and compassion that they all experienced during Bo's battle with cancer. Bo described his caregivers as "angels on earth". In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731. A memorial service for Bo will be held at 1:00 on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Steele Creek Church at 1929 W. Arrowood Rd. Charlotte, NC 28217. Faith Funeral Service of York, SC is serving The Isola Family.

Just finding out about Robert's death. He was my great aunt's son, but I unfortunately never knew him. My loss there. I'm glad to see he had a good life.

Poppy Bo, We sure are missing you around here. But we know you are much happier where you are. Spring in heaven must be very beautiful. Give all those that I love a hug and kiss from me.
