Ms Moore
I never got the chance to go back to CES to let you know the full breadth of your importance to me and my life. To me, your influence went far beyond what a teacher's salary covers. When I was beaten up and became afraid to go to school and very depressed, you befriended me. Just knowing that you were always there for me whether I needed advice or an ear made the last two years of middle school so much more doable. You HATED R.L. Stine's Goosebumps books, but you knew I loved them! To this day I cherish the signed copy of R.L. Stine's autobiography that you gave me when I graduated 8th grade to move on to East Duplin High and laugh at the irony and the disgust you pushed through to purchase that book for me!

I have thought about our friendship regularly since those days. I hope that you know how much you were loved - especially by me. Thank you for being so much more than a teacher and for giving so much of yourself to the role you played in countless lives. Thank you for being my friend, my counsel, and my safe harbor. It's been almost 20 years now, but I still think of you fondly. All my love to your family - Brad
