Benina Gonzlez - long time personal friend, told us often of her pride for her relative, Mayor Garcia. As much as we care for Benina - here in Dallas TX - we know that this must have been a good man.

I’m deeply saddened by the passing of my friend Alex Lopez. At Western Illinois University he was my neighbor and throughout our college years became one of my best friends. Although we lost contact with each other over the years, the memories we shared together have remained. If you were fortunate enough to have known Alex you will never forget him. I feel truly blessed to have known him… Keep laughing and smiling my friend.

For Sandra and the Lopez family, I am deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Alex, I knew Alex since attending Garfield Elementary School through Jr. High, and High School. Alex was always a bit shy through out those years, but, he was a good friend and I will miss him dearly. Sandra, I will keep you and your girls in my prayers, along with the rest of his family. Uncle Alex we all miss you so much. Your mission here must have been completed. We don't feel that it was, but we must go on because that's what you would have wanted us to do.
